I am a sculptor and an active member of the Auckland arts community. I was a founding member of the Collective, Jersey, and for 17 years we have organised and/or participated in exhibitions and events.
I studied at AUT and gained a degree in Visual Art majoring in Sculpture. Upon graduation I taught Art at a secondary school before setting up an artist-run space, PPg, in 2002. My aim was to engage in community art, and make a real contribution to promoting art.
I have been very involved in organising events and exhibitions in spaces outside of the gallery/museum setting. I have a driving interest in really engaging with the public in the presentation of ideas and works of art that speak to the issues that are important to a wider community, and to be able to have art in places that are easily accessible for everyone.
I am very involved in the arts, and am constantly asked to help organise or participate exhibitions and events. I am very proud of my record, and I have been a mentor to many younger artists and art practitioners.
